Cosmetic Cut to Valve Stem (Replace Wheel Cover)
Models:
2005 Pontiac Montana SV6
with 17" Steel Wheel (RPO QR5)
Condition
Some customers may comment on damage or a cut to the tire valve stem.
Cause
The cause of this condition may be due to contact between the wheel cover and the valve stem. This contact and the movement of the wheel cover may
eventually cut through the valve stem. Due to the brass core, this is cosmetic damage only and will not affect the integrity of the tire.
Correction
Replace the wheel cover with P/N 9597397. This new cover has an increased valve opening to prevent the valve from being cut.
