Some 1986 Pontiacs equipped with a THM 200-4R CRF transmission with a build date prior to Julian date 231 (See Figure 1), may exhibit a harsh 1-2
upshift at minimum to 1/2 throttle positions. This condition may be caused by an incorrect (may be pink in color) intermediate inner servo spring..

To correct this condition replace the intermediate inner servo spring with part number 8632147 (Refer to Figure 2).
