Clutch Pedal Assembly: Adjustments

    The hydraulic clutch release mechanism consists of a clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder and connecting hose which is serviced as a complete
assembly. The hydraulic system is supplied filled with fluid and no adjustment or bleeding is required. Before removing release mechanism for service,
verify that a malfunction exists as follows:

1.

 Remove clutch housing dust shield and note position of slave cylinder plunger.

2.

 Depress clutch pedal fully and measure slave cylinder plunger travel.

3.

 If plunger moves release lever a minimum of .57 inch, check clutch disc, pressure plate, release fork and bearing for damage and repair as needed.

4.

 If plunger does not move at least .57 inch, check fluid level in clutch master cylinder with pedal depressed, and fill to step in reservoir. Do not
overfill. Upper portion of reservoir must be open to accept fluid displaced in slave cylinder due to clutch wear.

5.

 Recheck plunger travel and check hydraulic components for leaks.

6.

 If plunger travel is still less than .57 inch, or if excessive leakage is noted, replace hydraulic system as an assembly.
