Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716)  (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling

System/Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (2.4L LE5 Only) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill-LNF)  (See:
Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Service and Repair) .

2. Remove the heat shield from the around the electrical connector, if necessary. 
3. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (3) from the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor.

4. Remove the ECT.
