Pull the outer layer of the convertible top off the striker and the arm of the convertible top mechanism.
10.
Remove the outer layer of the convertible top. This will expose a rivet holding the inner convertible top mat.
11.
Remove the rivet and slide the inner layer of convertible top material off the arm of the convertible top mechanism.
12.
Peel the foam off the spring and bend the end of the spring to remove it from the arm and cable.
13.
Remove the spring from the new cable assembly and install it in place of the old one. Make sure the end of the spring is bent back and that the
foam is back in place.
14.
Reinstall the top in reverse order. The rivet (3 mm x 12 mm [1/8 in x 1/2 in]) that was removed in Step 11 may be purchased locally.
