Condition
Some customers may comment that the convertible top front center latch appears to be bent or is difficult to latch.
Cause
This condition is the result of the top latch handle NOT being positioned in the "full open" position when the top is stowed in the trunk. During the deck
lid closing process, if the latch is not in the "full open, counterclockwise" position with the top stowed in the trunk, the deck lid stiffener will contact the
latch and bend the top latch.
Latch in Incorrect Position When Folded in Trunk
Correction
Use pliers and reposition the latch so it is straight.
