Fig. 10 Exhaust Manifold Installation & Bolt Tightening Sequence

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect electrical connector from oxygen sensor.
3. Remove heat shield, then raise and support vehicle.
4. Remove exhaust manifold brace to manifold bolt.
5. Remove manifold to exhaust pipe spring loaded nuts, then pull down and back on exhaust pipe to disengage from manifold.
6. Lower vehicle and remove exhaust manifold to cylinder head retaining nuts, then manifold seals and gaskets.
7. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten exhaust manifold attaching bolts in sequence shown in Fig. 9 and Fig 10.
