Rear HO2S

CAUTION:

-

The Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S 2 2) uses a permanently attached pigtail and connector. This pigtail should not be removed from the HO2S 2.
Damage or removal of the pigtail or connector could affect proper operation of the HO2S 2.

Use care when handling the HO2S 2. The in-line electrical connector and louvered end must be kept free of grease, dirt or other contaminants.
Avoid using cleaning solvents of any type.

The HO2S 2 may be difficult to remove when engine temperature is below 48°C (118°F). Excessive force may damage threads in exhaust
manifold or exhaust pipe. If HO2S 2 is difficult to remove start engine and let it run until it reaches 48°C (118°F).

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Ignition "OFF."
2. HO2S 2 electrical connector.
3. Carefully back out HO2S 2.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

NOTE:  A special anti-seize compound is used on the sensor threads. The compound consists of a liquid graphite and glass beads. New or service
sensors will already have the compound applied to the threads. If a sensor is removed from an engine and if for any reason it is to be reinstalled,
the threads must have anti-seize compound applied before reinstallation.

1. Coat threads of HO2S 2 with anti-seize compound P/N-5613695 or equivalent if necessary.
2. HO2S 2.

Tighten
Sensor to 41 Nm (30 lb. ft.)    

3. HO2S 2 electrical connector.
