Master Cylinder Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the low brake fluid level sensor switch.
2. Disconnect the brake pipes (4) from the master cylinder (1).
3. Plug the open brake pipes (4) in order to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
4. Remove the master cylinder mounting nuts (2).
5. Remove the master cylinder (1) from the booster (5).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the master cylinder (1) to the booster (5).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the master cylinder mounting nuts (2).
Tighten
Tighten the master cylinder mounting nuts (2) to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
3. Connect the brake pipes (4) to the master cylinder (1).
Tighten
Tighten the brake pipe tube nuts to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
4. Connect the electrical connector (3) to the low brake fluid level sensor switch.
5. Fill the master cylinder to the proper level with clean brake fluid.
6. Bleed the hydraulic brake system.
