Vehicle Speed Sensor/Transducer - Cruise Control: Description and Operation

The transducer provides the servo unit with a controlled amount of vacuum which will maintain operator selected speed.  Vacuum is controlled by a
variable air bleed within the transducer. When vehicle speed falls below the selected speed, the air bleed is closed and stronger vacuum is applied to the
servo. As vehicle speed is increased the air bleed increases and vacuum applied to the servo is decreased.
The transducer assembly is controlled by the engagement switch button which supplies varying amounts of voltage to the transducer coil. A flexible
cable from the transmission drives the transducer and a second flexible cable from the transducer drives the speedometer.  In addition, the resume
solenoid valve is part of the transducer assembly.
