Evaporative Canister Filter: Service and Repair
EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CANISTER FILTER REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
IMPORTANT: The evaporative emission (EVAP) canister filter cover must also be replaced when the EVAP filter is replaced to ensure proper
operation of the EVAP canister.
2. Remove the EVAP canister from the vehicle.
3. Carefully release the canister filter cover rear retaining tabs.
4. Carefully release the canister filter cover forward retaining tabs and remove the cover from the EVAP canister.
5. Discard the EVAP canister filter cover.
6. Remove the filter from the canister and discard the filter.
7. Clean the inside of the EVAP canister filter housing with a clean shop towel.
