Neutral Safety Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove shift linkage, lever and nut from park/neutral and back-up switch.
3. Disconnect electrical connector, then remove switch mounting screws, switch cable and nut, Fig. 4.
4. If installing new switch, remove gauge pin.

INSTALLATION

1. Place shifter shaft in Neutral, then align flats of shifter shaft with switch.
