Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor: Service and Repair
INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
The intake air temperature (IAT) sensor is an integral part of the mass air flow (MAF) sensor and cannot be serviced separately. Replacement of the
MAF sensor is required in order to replace the IAT sensor.
1. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the mass air flow (MAF) sensor (4).
2. Remove the two fasteners.
3. Remove the MAF sensor (4) from the air cleaner housing (2).
4. Remove the O-ring (3).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install a new O-ring (3) on the MAF sensor.
2. Install the MAF sensor (4) into the air cleaner housing (2).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Secure the MAF sensor to the air cleaner housing with the 2 fasteners.
Tighten
Tighten the 2 fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
4. Connect the MAF sensor electrical connector (1).
