Torque Converter Replacement 

Removal Procedure 

1. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transaxle Replacement.

2. Remove the torque converter (1) from transmission.
3. Remove the following from the torque converter:
1. The torque converter seal bolts.
2. The torque converter seal.
4. Remove the input shaft seal from input shaft.

Installation Procedure 

1. Install the Input shaft seal to input shaft.
2. Install the following to the torque converter:

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

1. Install the torque converter seal to transmission.
2. Install the converter seal bolts to transmission.

Tighten the torque converter seals bolts to 3 Nm (26 inch lbs.). 

3. Install the torque converter (1) to the transmission. Push the torque converter into position while rotating. The torque converter must be fully

seated.

4. Install the transmission. Refer to Transaxle Replacement.
