Fuel Pressure Gage Installation and Removal

FUEL PRESSURE GAGE INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL

TOOLS REQUIRED:

-

J 34730-1A Fuel Pressure Gage

-

J 42982 Fuel Pressure Gage Adapter

-

J 43178 Fuel Line Disconnect Tool

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.

2. Remove the four fasteners from the engine cover (1).
3. Remove the engine cover (1) from the engine.
4. Remove the quick connect coupling cover of the fuel feed hose.

5. Using the J 43178, disconnect the quick connect coupling of the fuel feed hose from the fuel feed pipe of the fuel rail. Use a shop towel in order to

catch any remaining fuel that may leak. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Metal Collar).

6. Install the J 42982 between the fuel feed pipe of the fuel rail and of the fuel feed hose.

7. Install the J 34730-1A to the J 42982, and tighten securely.
8. Connect the negative battery cable.

NOTE:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the retainer for the negative battery cable terminal to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

9. Turn ON the ignition in order to pressurize the fuel system.

10. Turn OFF the ignition.
11. Check for any fuel leaks.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
