Headliner: Service and Repair

Headlining Trim Panel Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the air bag system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling   (See: Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming/Service

and Repair).

2. Remove the center pillar upper trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement   (See: Trim Panel/Service and Repair).
3. Lower the door opening frame weather strips (1, 2) on the front and rear door pinch weld flanges.
4. Remove the assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement   (See: Passenger Assist Handle/Service and Repair).
5. Remove the windshield side garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement (Without Roof Side Rail Restraint)   (

6. Remove the sunshades and retainers. Refer to Sunshade Replacement   (See: Sun Visor/Service and Repair) and Sunshade Anchor Replacement   (

See: Sun Visor/Service and Repair).

7. Remove the dome lamp. Refer to Dome Lamp Replacement (Map Lamp With Sunroof)   (See: Lighting and Horns/Dome Lamp/Service and

8. Remove the quarter upper trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement   (See: Trim Panel/Service and Repair).
