Fuel Pressure Gauge Installation and Removal

Installation Procedure

1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief   (See: Fuel Pressure Relief).
2. Remove the engine cover.
3. Remove the quick connect coupling cover of the fuel feed hose.

4. Using the J 43178 - disconnect tool , disconnect the quick connect coupling of the fuel feed hose from the fuel feed pipe of the fuel rail. Use a

shop towel in order to catch any remaining fuel that may leak. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service   (See: Powertrain
Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Line Coupler/Service and Repair/Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).

5. Install the CH-48027 - gauge between the fuel feed pipe of the fuel rail and of the fuel feed hose.
6. Install the CH-48027 - gauge and tighten securely.

Caution:  Refer to Fastener Caution   (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution).

7. Connect the negative battery cable and tighten the retainer to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).
8. Turn ON the ignition in order to pressurize the fuel system.
9. Turn OFF the ignition.

10. Check for any fuel leaks.

Removal Procedure

1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief   (See: Fuel Pressure Relief).
2. Remove the CH-48027 - gauge.
3. Using the J 43178 - disconnect tool , disconnect the quick connect coupling of the CH-48027 - gauge from the fuel feed pipe of the fuel rail. Use a

shop towel in order to catch any remaining fuel that may leak.

4. Disconnect the quick connect coupling of the fuel feed hose from the CH-48027 - gauge , and remove the adapter. Use a shop towel in order to

catch any remaining fuel that may leak.
