1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring (1) on the crankshaft position sensor.

Caution:  Refer to Fastener Caution   (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution).

2. Install the crankshaft position sensor (4) with the bolt and tighten to 9.0 Nm (80 lb in).

Note:  Do not twist the O-ring.

3. Install the wire harness (3) and crankshaft position sensor connector clamp.
4. Connect the crankshaft position sensor connector (2).
5. Install the generator assembly. Refer to Generator Replacement (2.4L)   (See: Starting and Charging/Charging System/Alternator/Service and

Repair)Generator Replacement (1.8L)   (See: Starting and Charging/Charging System/Alternator/Service and Repair)

6. Install the right engine under cover.
7. Connect cable to negative battery terminal.
8. Inspect for oil leak.
