Wheel Stud Replacement

Special Tools

J 43631  Ball Joint Remover

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle   (See: Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation   (See: Service and Repair).
3. Remove the front brake rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement   (See: Brakes and Traction Control/Disc Brake System/Brake

Rotor/Disc/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Brake Rotor Replacement).

4. Remove the front brake shield. Refer to Front Brake Shield Replacement   (See: Brakes and Traction Control/Disc Brake System/Service and

Repair/Front Brake Shield Replacement).

5. Install 2 wheel nuts onto 2 wheel studs.
6. Use a pry bar on the 2 nuts in order to prevent the hub from turning.
7. Using the remover J 43631    (1) , press out the wheel stud from the hub.
