7. Using a screwdriver, pull the lock piece (1) out from the adjuster case.

8. Install the shift cable (1) to the shift lever assembly.

Note:

With the shift lever in N.

Make sure that the lock piece is protruding from the adjuster case.

9. Install the select cable to the shift lever assembly.

Note:  Securely press in the lock piece until the lock engages.

10. Press in and lock the lock piece to the adjuster case.
11. Adjust the transmission shift lever cable. Refer to Manual Transmission Shift Lever Cable Adjustment   (See: Adjustments/MVC 5 Speed -

Manual Transmission).

12. Install the front floor console assembly. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement   (See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding /

Trim/Console/Service and Repair).
