Removing and installing vacuum pump

Information

A vacuum pump is used to create the vacuum for the brake booster.

Vacuum pump up to 2008 model (tandem pump)

Up to 2008 model,, this vacuum pump, together with the oil suction pump on the right cylinder head, is designed as a tandem pump -3-. It is driven by
the outlet camshaft on the right cylinder bank.

Vacuum pump as of 2009 model (solo pump)

As of 2009 model, the vacuum pump -1- is designed as a solo pump. It is driven by the outlet camshaft on the right cylinder bank.

Information
When you loosen the fastening screws, engine oil will run out of the vacuum pump. Place a suitable container underneath to collect the emerging
engine oil. The engine-oil level must be checked and topped up afterwards (following installation).

1. Remove vacuum pump -1- (solo pump on right side of cylinder head).

Disconnect vacuum pipe -2- at the vacuum pump -1- and on the engine.
