Eliminating Noise Symptoms - Reworking PCM And Air-conditioning System Regulator

Symptoms
Creaking/clicking noises from around the PCM/air-conditioning system regulator.
Causes and remedial action
Relative movements between the PCM/air-conditioning system regulator and the basic centre console carrier at the front can cause creaking/clicking
noises while driving.
If a complaint is received, tricot tape or transparent Teflon tape must be affixed to the PCM/air-conditioning system regulator to remedy the situation on
vehicles manufactured before the specified date of introduction March 2006.

Preliminary work
1. Remove PCM.
2. Remove air-conditioning system regulator.
Reworking PCM and air-conditioning system regulator
1. Remedial action 1
1.1. Cut a strip of tricot tape approx. 200 mm long.
1.2. Cut two strips of tricot tape each approx. 85 mm long.
1.3. Stick tricot tape -1- on the PCM flange -2- at the top and bottom.
1.4. Cut two strips of Teflon tape measuring 50 and 60 mm long.
1.5. Stick Teflon tape -1- on the two PCM guide cams -2- at the left and right.
