Deburr and coat holes with anticorrosion paint.

Align the lock protection bracket (Part Number 964 501 953 00) with the lower surface of the cross member. If necessary, reshape bracket using a
pair of pliers.
7.
Install the lock protection to the lower surface of the cross member with one 4.8 mm rivet. Line up second hole. Use rivet as a guide, do not fasten.
8.
Drill the two lower holes for the lock protection bracket from the luggage compartment area.
9.
Remove the top guide rivet, move the lock protection bracket to the side. Deburr the holes and apply rust protection paint.
10.
Line up lock protection bracket and install one upper and two lower 4.8 mm rivets.
11.
Clean drill shavings from luggage compartment.
12.
Paint all visible areas of the lock protection bracket with black paint.
13.
Install the new top lock cover (Part Number 964 555 085 00) with 4 new speed nuts (Part Number 999 507 254 02), both versions of top lock
covers.
Remove the two hole-cover plugs near the lock from the old lock cover and install in the new cover.
14.
If applicable, reinstall cover in front of battery with two plastic nuts (10 mm wrench size).
15.
Reinstall spare wheel and luggage compartment carpet.
16.
Close the front hood. Push down in the area of the two hood rubber stops to avoid denting the hood. Unlock hood again and check function of lock
and safety catch. If OK, close hood.
