Information:
This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Service Action on a certain range of 2003 and 2004 model year 911 C/C4/4S/Targa/Cabrio/C4 Cabrio/4S
Cabrio (996) vehicles. The PCM2 system software needs to be updated to software version "3.0" for using the new navigation CDs.
Owners of the affected vehicles will be provided with new navigation CDs with updated cards as part of this Workshop Service Action. To use this
navigation software, the system software of the PCM2 and BOSE amplifier in the affected vehicles must be checked and updated if necessary.
Affected Vehicles:
A total of 651 U.S. and 40 Canadian vehicles fall within the scope of this Workshop Service Action.
Very Important!
Use the VIN range below as a general guideline. The VIN can be checked in the Porsche e-DCS/WWS for confirmation of an open recall campaign.
Refer to Attachment "A" to determine if a particular vehicle is eligible for this recall campaign (or service action). Attachment "A" for W522 VINs is
an electronic attachment only, and will be accessible via e-DCS Document repository.
This attachment will not be available in a printed form and therefore cannot be sent to your dealership location. Also, the VIN can be checked via the
VRU (Voice Response System) for any open listing.
The affected Vehicle Identification Numbers are contained in the VIN Ranges shown.
Customer Notification:
Porsche Cars North America, Inc., will notify All Owners of affected vehicles by First Class Mail during the week of April 15, 2004. See the copy of the
Customer Notification letter to the Porsche Owner (Attachment "B").
