11. Enter the VIN and press >>. Then confirm your entry by pressing F7.

INFORMATION:  If the DME control unit is re-programmed for a vehicle, the DME code specified in the PPN and the immobiliser code must be
entered in the DME control unit.

The codes are available in the PPN (PIWIS info system - Job Management - Vehicle code information) or from your importer.

12. Enter the old DME programming code and press >>. Then confirm your entry by pressing F7.
13. When you are prompted to enter the New DME programming code, also enter the Old DME programming code and press >>. Then confirm your

entries by pressing F7.

14. Enter the old immobiliser code and press >>. Then confirm your entry by pressing F7.
15. When you are prompted to enter the New immobiliser code, also enter the Old immobiliser code and press >>. Then confirm your entries by

pressing F7.

16. Press F8 to start programming the DME control unit.

A progress bar appears showing the progress of the programming procedure. Do not interrupt programming.

INFORMATION:  If programming is interrupted (e.g. due to a voltage drop or if communication is aborted, etc.), programming must be repeated.

17. Once programming is complete (progress bar shows 100 %), follow the instructions on the PIWIS Tester (switch ignition off and on, etc.).
18. Programming ends with the message "Programming was completed successfully" in the PIWIS Tester display. Confirm the message by pressing

>>.

19. When control unit programming is complete, press << to return to the - 'Control units' menu (list of control units) and activate the control unit

search.

20. Read out the fault memories of the control units and erase fault memory entries in the control units that are caused by DME control unit

programming (e.g. "DME control unit").

If other faults are present, these must be found and corrected.

This work cannot be settled under warranty.

INFORMATION:  In the US and Canada, the Ready status must be obtained after programming the DME control unit (e.g. by performing a test
drive or by running short tests using the PIWIS Tester). If in doubt, talk to your importer.

21. Press << to return to the PIWIS Tester Start menu.
22. Shut down the PIWIS Tester and disconnect it from the vehicle.
23. Switch off ignition.
24. Switch off and disconnect the battery charger.
25. Carry out a test drive and read out the fault memory again.
