Eliminating Noise Symptoms - Reworking The Instrument Cluster

Symptoms
Rattling/buzzing noises from around the instrument cluster.
Causes and remedial action
Rattling/buzzing noises can come from around the instrument cluster caused by tolerances between the dashboard inset and instrument cluster.
In the event of a complaint, tricot tape must be affixed to the centring journals of the instrument cluster and two felt strips must also be affixed to the
underside of the instrument cluster to remedy the situation on vehicles manufactured before the specified date of introduction September 2005.

Preliminary work
1. Remove instrument cluster.
Reworking the instrument cluster
1. Cut a strip of felt tape approx. 50 mm long.
2. Stick felt tape -1- to the centring journal of the instrument cluster -2- in the middle.
