Slackening/tensioning the drive belt

Information

The drive belt can be checked when installed (slackened).

^

Always check the running surface carefully on both sides.

Check the belt by pulling it through slowly.

2. Pull the drive belt through slowly and check the running tracks carefully on both sides.
2.1.

If you find the slightest damage, the belt must be replaced.

Check for foreign objects in the grooves of the pulley.

3. Check the pulley for damage and foreign bodies in the running grooves.
3.1.

Replace damaged components if necessary.

4. If no damage is found, place the drive belt on the pulley in the marked running direction.
4.1.

Turn the tensioning roller clockwise as far as it will go, fit the belt and let the tensioning roller slide back into tensioning position.

4.2.

Check that the belt is fitted correctly.

Subsequent work 

1. Install air cleaner housing.
