The drive shaft should only be loosened at the wheel bearing housing if the wheel bearing or wheel bearing housing needs to be replaced.

Loosen axle nut (vehicle on ground and brakes operated by 2nd fitter).

1. If necessary (if the wheel bearing or wheel bearing housing was replaced), loosen the drive shaft at the wheel bearing housing (loosen axle nut).
2. Raise the vehicle.
3. Remove wheel.

1. Disengage parking-brake cable at the parking-brake lever.

Release the parking-brake lever (do not operate again until fitting is complete; self-adjusting).

Open cover of oddments tray in center console.

Remove bottom of oddments tray in center console.

^

Remove the relevant parking-brake cable sideways out of the turnbuckle.

2. Open safety clip on combination plug connection -1- and detach the connector. Dismantle the combination plug connection -1- at the wheel

bearing housing.

Remove line for brake pad wear indicator from support on wheel carrier.

Loosen fastening screw -2- and remove the speed sensor.

3. Loosen the drive shaft at the transmission and wheel bearing housing (only at the wheel bearing housing if the wheel bearing or wheel bearing

housing needs to be replaced).

3.1.

Loosen the drive shaft at the transmission.
