Overview of parking-brake shoes
6. The following action, "Detach brake disc and remove parking-brake shoes" is only necessary if the wheel bearing or wheel bearing housing is
replaced!
6.1.
Remove brake disc and parking-brake shoes -1-.
6.2.
Disengage parking-brake cable at the actuating lever -6- and pull it out of the guide on the wheel bearing housing.
7. Unscrew linkage for headlight levelling system (headlight height adjustment) on the trailing arm (left side only). Counter with an open-ended
wrench when doing this.
8. Remove connecting link (suspension/stabilizer), spring strut, two upper control arms, toe and lower transverse control arm on wheel bearing
housing.
8.1.
Loosen the two upper trailing arms on the wheel bearing housing.

8.2.
Remove toe and lower transverse control arm (on wheel bearing housing). On the 911 Turbo and 911 GT3, remove the spoiler (air guide for
brake cooling system) at the diagonal control arm.
Use the press-out tool P 9560 for pressing out the ball joint. When loosening the lock nuts, counter at the ball-joint pin with a screwdriver P
9546 (Torx screwdriver).
