Intake Air Temperature Sensor: Description and Operation
Intake Air Temperature Sensor
PURPOSE
The sensor is fitted to detect excessively high intake air temperatures. The signal is used by EZ ignition control unit to calculate ignition timing.
OPERATION AND LOCATION
A PTC (positive temperature coefficient) temperature sensor is fitted to the intake air intercooler. If intake temperatures are excessively high, the
firing angle is retarded by the control unit by 2.8°, from a pressure of 1250 mbar at the pressure sensor.
