Information:
Clicking or grating noises can occur in the area of the upper spring strut mount when the wheels are steered with the vehicle stationary, e.g. when
parking.

Determine, which type of noise, is occuring during steering:
Clicking Noises:
This noise occurs shortly before turning the steering wheels to full lock. A loose strut piston rod nut causes it (Figure 1, item 1).
Repair:
Tighten the strut piston rod fastening nut to the specified torque.
Grating Noise:
This noise occurs when steering movements are made around the center position (straight-ahead position) to full lock position.
Repair:
Replace the stop plates. (Figure 1, items 2 and 4) with new version, part number, 996 343 107 03.
