Using 2K Acoustic Filler Foam "AFS-Vario" On The Body

Description

The 2K acoustic foam filler "AFS Vario" is a ready-to-use, expanding filler and insulating foam that comes in an aerosol can. It is expanding, extremely
tacky and gives good results. A longer skin formation time means that the processing time is around 15-18 minutes. Processing can be interrupted briefly
at up to approx. 5 minutes. The chemical reaction is generally complete after about 30 minutes. The hardened filler does not swell or shrink.

Applications

The 2K acoustic foam filler "AFS Vario" is ideal for filling, insulating and sealing cavities, e.g. A-, B-, C- pillar, door sills and frame sections.

Processing

INFORMATION:  Always observe the relevant work safety regulations when working with the 2K acoustic foam filler "AFS Vario".

CAUTION:  Danger of poisoning and injury when handling 2K acoustic foam filler.

Danger of poisoning from breathing in vapors or swallowing 2K acoustic foam filler.

-

Risk of injury due to contact with skin or eyes.
-

Ventilate the work area well.

-

Do not eat, drink, or smoke while carrying out work.

-

Avoid direct contact with eyes and skin. Wear suitable protective gear, such as protective clothing, gloves, and if necessary, a
protective mask.

-

If clothing is soiled with 2K acoustic foam filler, change clothing immediately and only use again after they have been cleaned.

-

Also observe the product-specific processing and safety instructions on the packaging.

In case of eye contact: Rinse eyes immediately and thoroughly with lukewarm running water and consult an eye doctor.

-

In case of skin contact: Rinse affected skin areas immediately with lukewarm running water and soap.

-

If you swallow 2K acoustic foam filler: Rinse your mouth out and consult a doctor.

INFORMATION:

The work area must be free of dust and grease.

-

Remove loose parts.

-

Do not wet the area beforehand.

Observe temperature limits:

-

Can and ambient temperature: 10-35 °C

-

Optimal temperature: 18-23 °C

INFORMATION:  Apply sparingly since the volume of the foam filler will expand by approx. 50-100 % in open areas and by approx. 100-200 % in
cavities. Approx. 0.25 liters of foam volume is produced per second of foam time (free-foaming). The foam filler is silver-grey. Remove fresh foam
residues immediately with PU cleaner. Hardened foam residues can only be removed mechanically afterwards. Always allow the can to foam up
following activation.

Activation process:

1. Break open the seal on the activation lid.
2. Use a piece of wire to pull the activation lid out as far as it will go (approx. 11 cm up to the notch).
3. Break off the wire at the required rupture point (notch) over the valve.
4. Screw plastic adapter into the valve.
5. Shake can vigorously up and down (approx. 20 times).
6. Release foam downwards out of the can with the valve.

Subsequent work:

The hardened foam filler can be processed further by sanding, cutting or sawing. It can be painted or varnished immediately.
