Removing And Installing Relay For Main Switch - GT2, - As Of MY 2001

NOTE:  For GT2 vehicles in the Club Sport model, a main battery relay can be retrofitted with an EMERGENCY STOP switch inside. The outer
EMERGENCY STOP switch in the front left cowl panel cover of the fluid tank and the necessary wiring are pre-fitted.

CAUTION:  The vehicle must not be driven on public roads when in the Racing track status: When the inner or outer EMERGENCY STOP switch is
actuated, the entire electrical system is disconnected from the battery.

This means that all electrical consumers are switched off, including those required for driving on public roads. The handling behaviour of the vehicle is
changed due to the deactivated power supply for the control electronics.

Installing the main battery relay

NOTE:  After the installation of the main battery relay and switching off using the inner/outer EMERGENCY STOP switch, the Work instructions after
disconnecting the battery described in Chapter 9 must be observed Refer to No. 9-1, General. The battery may discharge if kept at a standstill for
relatively long periods in the Racing track status with the EMERGENCY STOP switches actuated.

The main battery relay is installed to the right of the battery (in conjunction with a battery of maximum 60 Ah). Fasten using the hexagon-head bolt M 8
x 16 enclosed in the delivery scope (tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.).
