Concern:
Rocker panel cover pulling away from the car body.

General Information:

If unfavorable tolerance occurs in the rearward mounting point of the rocker panel cover, the cover may be pulled away from the car body by brush type
car washes. (See Figure 1 for mounting location.) To prevent this, the rearward mounting has been reinforced with adhesive in production starting from
November 4, 1992, from VIN:

966 PS 820280 
961 PS 840199

Repair Information:
If repair or replacement becomes necessary to the rocker panel cover, the following repair procedure should be used.

1.

Remove the rocker panel cover from vehicle and inspect for damage at the rearward mounting. (if the mounting spring hole in the cover is broken,
the cover must be replaced.)

2.

Remove the rubber cover strip from the rocker panel cover and clean the rubber strip, rocker panel cover and vehicle body in the area of the arrow
in Figure 1 with acetone or a suitable cleaner.
