September 29, 1992

Model
968

Group
1

Part Identifier
1360

Number
9211

Subject:
968 Flywheel

ATTENTION:
Service Manager/Service Technician

Models Affected:
An 968's with manual transmission

Concern:
Holding or turning Dual Mass Flywheel

General Information:

The motronic sensing ring on the 968 Dual Mass Flywheel is pressed on. It is very important that when holding the flywheel or turning the engine by
hand, the flywheel should not be held or turned by the motronic sensing ring. If excessive torque is applied to the sensing ring it is possible that the ring
could move out of TDC position on the flywheel, resulting in engine performance problems. Special tool 9206/1 or 9538/1 should be used to prevent this
from happening.
