Concern:
If a vehicle is having engine performance problems such as surging idle or hesitations, a leak in the intake system could be the reason. The connecting
elbow (see drawing) which connects the intake boot and idle stabilizer should be checked for cracks or leaks.

Repair Information:
A leaking connecting elbow should be replaced with a reinforced version, Part Number 944 110 212 01. The part number is cast into plastic of the
connecting elbow.

General Information:
This new plastic connecting elbow has been installed in production since February 2, 1994 from the following engine numbers:
