Replacing one inner door release handle

Both operations include: Removing and
installing door panel, replacing inner
release handle mechanism, bowden
cable and connection piece.

Repair Procedure

Work Procedure:

Replacing inner door release handle and bowden cable.

1.

Disconnect battery and cover positive terminal.

2.

Remove door panel. Disassemble and remove inner door release handle. Refer to the Boxster Technical Manual, Group 5, Section 57 51 37 -
Disassembling and assembling door.

2.1

Fit the new inner door release handle onto the door panel.

Caution:

There is risk of injury from the airbag or power window regulator (comfort function)! Wait at least one minute after disconnecting the battery before
proceeding with further work.

3.

Remove molded foam piece from the inside of the door in the area of the door lock.

4.

Remove mount (Figure 1, arrow) from the door.

5.

Detach the connection piece from the door lock to the outer door handle (Figure 2, arrow). Do this by moving the sliding part of the connection
