Wheel Fastener: Service Precautions

WHEEL BOLT DAMAGE 

Damaged wheel bolts must always be replaced. This damage includes mechanical damage to the thread, the spherical cap and damage resulting
from seizure of the bolt head bearing surface and spherical cap ring. It must be possible to rotate the spherical cap ring and shift it in axial
direction on the bolt shank.

Rework on wheel bolts is not allowed.

WHEEL BOLT CORROSION 

When wheel cleaning is required, only the Porsche recommended light alloy wheel cleaner part No. 999 901 030 40, or equivalent, can be used to
safely clean the wheels.

The use of un-authorized alloy wheel cleaners may result in chemical reactions causing corrosion of the wheel bolts and/or locks.
