2. Coat the sides of the contact surfaces of the bearing covers (guide bearings) with the numbers 7 and 8 (for bearing cover numbering, see figure

below) with lubricant.

3. Coat camshaft bearings with engine oil.

Note:

When installing the camshafts, the cams for cylinder 1 must point upwards.

Make sure that the camshafts are inserted in such a way that the camshaft guide T10068 would fit into the grooves of the camshafts -A-.

4. Place the camshafts carefully into the camshaft bearings of the cylinder head. Observe camshaft coding:

Outlet camshaft: An all-round groove is located at marking -A-. Engraving: 022 101.

Inlet camshaft: Two all-round grooves are located at marking -B-. Engraving: 022 102.
