8. Push a plastic sleeve -A- on to the valve (protects the valve stem seal from the key grooves). Oil a new valve stem seal -B- and insert it into the

press-on tool 3365-1-.

9. Fit the valve stem seal using the press-on tool 3365-1-.

10. Fit the valve springs, concave washers and valve keys using the additional tool VW 541/1A and lever tool 2036.
11. Remove the air connection and fit it to the next spark plug thread.
12. Replace the next valve stem seal using the procedure described above.

Note: Before switching to another cylinder, the cylinder must be positioned at the bottom dead center and supplied with compressed air (see
above).

Subsequent work for replacing valve stem seals 

1. After all the valve stem seals have been replaced, fit roller-type cam followers correctly.
2. Install camshafts.
