Torque Converter: Procedures

Removing and installing torque converter

Preliminary work for torque converter 

1. Remove Tiptronic gears.

Removing the torque converter 

WARNING:  Danger of scalding and chemical burns from hot ATF

> Allow ATF to cool down
Wear personal protective gear (goggles, gloves)

1. Place oil collection pan under the converter bellhousing. 

Note:

ATF can leak out when removing the torque converter.

Place torque converter with transmission side pointing upwards. 

2. Remove torque converter from the transmission shaft.
