Parking Brake Cable: Service and Repair

WM 465819 Removing and installing front brake cable for foot-operated parking brake
Preliminary work
1. Move the actuating pedal to zero position (pull release). Parking brake is released.
2. Remove trim panel in the sill area.
3. Remove lower A-pillar trim panel.
4. Remove center console.
5. Remove cover in the driver's footwell.
6. And remove the driver's seat (to facilitate assembly).
Removing front brake cable
Front brake cable -C-
Information:
Front brake cable means: From the release for the foot-operated parking brake to the deflector under the center console.
The actuating pedal for the foot-operated parking brake does not have to be removed to do this.
1. Fix the adjustment device using an auxiliary pin (max. 3.5 mm [diameter]). In other words: press the adjustment device together -arrow- until the
assembly bores are covered and the auxiliary pin can be inserted. Only remove the ball head of the brake cable -1- when the brake cable has been
removed from the deflector (center console).
2. Lift the front carpet (do not bend) and push the rear carpet aside.
3. Remove securing clip on the deflector -arrow-.
