Parking Brake Shoe: Service and Repair

Preliminary work
1. Remove wheel.
2. Remove brake caliper and brake disc.

Information:
The cover (grille) on the actuating mechanism of the foot-operated parking brake (FPB) does not need to be removed. The auxiliary pin can be
inserted through the cover (grille).
Wear protective gloves.
Watch out for sharp edges in the area of the actuating mechanism for the foot-operated parking brake (FPB).
Loosen and secure operating cable.
1. Remove cover over actuating mechanism for foot-operated parking brake (FPB).
2. Move pedal of foot-operated parking brake (FPB) into zero position. To do this, pull the release lever on the dashboard.
3. Fix the adjustment device using an -auxiliary pin with diameter of max. 3.5 mm-. In other words: press the adjustment device together -Arrow-
until the assembly bores are covered and the auxiliary pin can be inserted.

4. Remove some of the brake cable. Do not loosen the circlip! To do this, insert a -screwdriver- between the sleeve of the brake cable and the wheel
bearing housing.
5. Pull the -sleeve of the cable- as far as possible out of the wheel bearing housing.
