Adjusting the timing for the camshafts
Adjusting the timing for camshafts
Information:
Cylinder rows 1 - 4 and 5 - 8 are adjusted at the same time without the camshaft being turned!
Information:
The fastening screws on the sprocket wheels do not need to be replaced after they have been undone.
The crankshaft is positioned in the TDC and is fixed using fixing pins 9595/1 once the above preliminary check has been performed.
1. Undo all four fastening screws of the camshaft wheels (two camshaft adjusters) on both cylinder banks. For this purpose, hold the hexagon of the
camshaft wheel on the respective camshaft with the ring wrench and release pan-head screw M12 1 by 2 revolutions
--To illustrate the process more clearly, the figure does not show the timing-case cover--.
