6.1. Attach the bracket -1- and position it by referring to the marking -3- .
6.2. Secure the bracket -1- using the 8 fastening screws -2- .

- Tightening torque: 3.2 Nm (2 ftlb.)

Subsequent work

Subsequent work for passenger's airbag unit

1. Install support for knee airbag.

1.1. Attach support.

1.2. Secure support -1- using the three fastening screws -2- .

- Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)

2. Install air vent for right door window.
3. Install glove box.
4. Connect the battery and carry out "Work instructions after disconnecting the battery".

Preliminary work for head airbag unit

1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Remove A-pillar trim panel
3. Remove B-pillar trim panel
4. Remove C-pillar trim panel
5. Remove headliner.

Triggering of airbag unit

System faults can occur

Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

A voltage supply (e.g. battery charger) must not be connected to the external power supply/jump-lead starting terminals.

Disconnect the battery and insulate the ground strap so that all contact with a ground carrier is avoided.

-

Wait 1 minute after disconnecting the battery.

-

Only pull off connector on the triggering unit after the waiting time has elapsed.

-

Make sure that no foreign objects are located in front of the airbag unit during installation.

-

Replace damaged parts during removal.

-

Always position the airbag unit in such a way that the airbag opening is facing upwards.
