For automatic transmission vehicles: Slide the brake pedal pivot pin outboard and remove from the mounting bracket.

For manual transmission vehicles: Slide the pivot pin and clutch pedal assembly outboard, out of the mounting bracket and set the assembly out of
the way on the floor. Note: do not remove the pin from the clutch pedal as this will require the clutch adjuster mechanism to be reassembled.

Remove the brake pedal from the vehicle.

E.  Steering Wheel & Column Disassembly

1.

Remove the steering wheel trim cover.

2.

Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.  For tilt wheel, place the column in the center position, unscrew and remove the tilt lever.

3.

Mark the steering wheel to shaft location (for proper alignment when reassembling the wheel to the shaft). Remove the steering wheel attaching
nut.

4.

Pull the steering wheel off the splined shaft.

5.

For standard (non-tilt) column vehicles, remove the screws retaining the lower steering column trim cover (Fig. 10a).
