The new cap has a high dome and is black in color. It replaces the existing brown and white or solid brown cap.

When submitting claims for vehicle service, enter Standard Repair Time (SRT), TIC and Supplier Codes only until you are able to enter claims on
the DIAL System. After you are able to use the DIAL System, all claims must be entered using Chrysler Labor Operation Numbers (LOPs). See
Completion Reporting and Reimbursement section of the dealer letter for applicable codes/LOPs.

Owner Notification/Service Scheduling

All involved car owners known to Chrysler are being notified of the service requirement by first class mail. A revised engine coolant system bottle cap is
enclosed with each notification letter, along with instructions for installation by the owner. Owners who prefer not to do the installation themselves are
instructed to take the caps to their Jeep/Eagle dealers for installation.

A copy of the owner notification letter is enclosed for your information.

Service Procedure

Remove the existing brown and white or solid brown engine coolant bottle cap. Replace it with the new, high dome, black cap (P/N J4546008).

Note:

Some caps may be very tight, requiring the use of channel lock pliers to loosen.

Completion Reporting/Reimbursement

IMPORTANT:

In August 1988, Jeep/Eagle recall claims are scheduled to start being processed through the DIAL System, superseding the former Jeep/Eagle
system. SRT, TIC and Supplier codes will be replaced by use of Chrysler Labor Operation Numbers at that time.

Separate Warranty Bulletins have already been issued with others to follow providing details of the change over.

For this recall, use the applicable claim procedure as follows:

Until you can submit claims on the DIAL System:

Submit the claim using the Dealer Communication System (DCS), Warranty Type 91, or a Warranty Invoice. Include the cost of the coolant system cap
if purchased at dealer cost for the recall service.

Enter the Standard Repair Time (SRT), Time Allowance, Technical Incident Code (TIC) and Supplier Code as shown.

After you can submit claims on the DIAL system:

Claims for vehicles which have been serviced should be submitted on the DIAL System.
