Remove and discard the bulkhead retainer plate attaching screws. Remove and save the metal retainer plate for reuse (Fig. 5).

Using approximately 15 psi shop air pressure, blow the coolant out of the heater core through the nipples.

C.  Loosen & Move Center Console Rearward

Remove the 2 center console attaching screws at the sides of the console (Fig. 6).

Remove the automatic transmission shift bezel (or remove the manual transmission shift boot) by snapping out the plastic trim piece. Caution:
use care when removing the automatic transmission shift indicator mylar strip to avoid tearing or kinking.

Remove the 2 screws located under the bezel (or boot) at the rear of the console (Fig. 6).
