Fig. 5b ECU connector terminal identification

1.

Disconnect wire harness connector from MAT sensor.

2.

Using a suitable high input impedance digital volt-ohmmeter, measure sensor resistance.

3.

With engine warmed up, resistance should be less than 1000 ohms. With engine at room temperature, resistance should be approximately 3400
ohms.

4.

If resistance of MAT sensor is not within specifications, replace.

5.

Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ECU connector terminal 32, Fig. 5, and the sensor connector terminal, then ECU connector terminal
14 and sensor connector terminal.

6.

If resistance is greater than one ohm, repair wire harness as necessary.
