Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Service and Repair

Fig. 13 Replacing idle speed actuator (ISA) & Motor
The Closed Throttle (Idle) Switch is integral with the ISA and Motor assembly.
1.
Disconnect throttle return spring, then the throttle cable and cruise control cable (if equipped).
2.
Disconnect WOT switch and ISA motor wire connectors.
3.
Remove ISA motor and WOT switch bracket (2), Fig. 13, from throttle body.
4.
Remove motor-to-bracket retaining nuts (1), Fig. 13. Do not remove nuts from motor studs below bracket. Use a thin wrench to hold them while
removing outer nuts.
5.
Remove motor (3) from bracket (2), Fig. 13.
6.
Reverse procedure to install. After installation, adjust ISA motor.
